Baolab is a design lab providing research and strategic thinking on color, materials and trend forecasting.

For nearly a decade, Baolab has been providing material and trend research for the European market establishing itself as an authority in the field. Baolab founders requested a new logo as part of their brand-refresh.

Our objective was to develop a logotype with a contemporary take on the company’s current visual identity, its values and products while maintaining the memorable features of the previous logo for brand recognition.

We conducted additional assessments to test the flexibility of the letterform and its usage; the “b” letterform could be used as a logomark icon for various applications and the logotype as a window to display materials and textures.
